Nutrition Department
The Nutrition Department is a key department in the Food and Nutrition Administration. The Department is responsible for providing the best nutrition care for patients and clients.
Nutrition science is now considered as a cornerstone for the prevention for the prevention and control of many diseases. Therefore the department is continuously working towards improving the quality of dietetic services and its standards of nutritional care. Here are some of the main activities/ programs planned:
- Setting up a 5 year plan of action
- Revising and developing job descriptions
- Planning developing , implementing and evaluating training programs for the staff
- Establishing working groups to develop policies, procedures, standards of practice and a quality assurance
scheme
- Developing a diet manual and revising therapeutic menus
- Participating in conferences and seminars related to nutrition
- Coordinated activities and initiatives with other departments
